6 Easy Steps to Clean a Coffee Machine

10/12/2017

One morning, while my husband was making his coffee, sipping a cup of coffee looked at me in disgust and said, "Honey, this cup of coffee tastes like feet!".

Actually, I do not consume coffee, but I know a few things about the coffee. One of these things is that coffee should not taste like feet. I think this is one of the basic principles, is not it?

As we all know the coffee machine is one of the most used electrical appliances at home. Every morning with half-open eyes, we get to the machine from which our "wake-up" medicine will flow. Actually, we really love our coffee machine, and we rarely clean it up. Strange right?

A simple cleaning of the coffee machine will help maintain its freshness, removal of the overlayed scale, and eventual discoloration and mold appearance. Well, the best thing is that you can do it yourself at home!

Let's get back to our morning story. After my husband announced that his coffee tastes like feet, I asked him when was the last time he cleaned it. And of course, his answer was an incomprehensible mumble and shudder in the living room.

How to clean the coffee machine at home?

1. Pour the water tank and fill it with water and vinegar as the ratio is 50:50. As you all know that you have an intolerance to the smell of vinegar, you can squeeze 1-2 lemons and substitute vinegar without any problem.

2. Return the filled tank back and run the coffee machine on an empty cycle. Like if you have a jug, leave it to collect the solution if you do not have a cup or bowl.

3. When the tank reaches the middle, stop the machine for about 1 hour so that it can be cleaned and wet. Then run the coffee machine again.

4. Now fill the tank with water and run 2-3 empty cycles to remove the vinegar residue.

5. If you have a removable filter, you can also clean it with soapy water to make sure it is 100% cleaned and disinfected.

6. Once we have taken care of the inside of the coffee machine, it is time to clean it outdoors. Outdoor cleaning is even easier. With a sponge, but with the abrasive part and a little bit of dishwasher, clean it. Then, wipe it with kitchen paper or a microfiber cloth. If the coffee machine is inox, it is not advisable to use this method.

A cleaning that takes no more than 15-20 minutes, but then you can enjoy a warm cup of fragrant coffee! But if your oven is too dirty to clean it by yourself you can always count on professional help. There a lot of companies that provide excellent end of tenancy oven cleaning services at affordable prices. All you have to do is compare the different prices and select the best opportunity for your needs. Just make a call.
